The Canvas Cafe
The Canvas Cafe is a cafe and creative venue just off Brick Lane in East London. They serve homemade food, host workshops and art events in confidence and self-esteem. You can also write on their walls! Seriously, how cool is that!
What people think and feel really matters to the Canvas Cafe, and that's why they've made their walls a blank canvas for your thoughts, ideas and stories. Online comments can be transitory, but when you write on walls your words take on a deeper meaning, and a lasting importance. You also become a part of an ever-evolving piece of live art. And if writing's not your thing, pull up a chair and lose yourself in the world of others..... You won't need a book!
Also the menu at the Canvas cafe is great: the menu has been designed to make you feel good- wholesome but hearty food hat both stimulates the taste buds and fuels your body for the rest of the day. We ate sandwitches and they were amazing! The bread was delicious, so I couldn't stop myself asking them where they got it. It turned out the bread comes from social enterprise bakery The Dusty Knuckle, who are based in Dalston, East London.
Can it get any better? Sure! The canvas cafe is also a venue for live theatre, music, comedy and cabaret and their basement space can be used to host conferences, meetings, network events, training, away days, meet ups fitness and well being classes, fairs, exhibitions and parties, as well as theathre shows, live music or film screenings.
